Network Asset Discovery Service
The Network Asset Discovery Service is:
- Primarily a tool to enable to local IT Teams to monitor what devices are on their networks and to keep track of installed software and security patch levels on those devices.
- Optionally, a tool to enable local IT Teams to distribute and apply security and other patches to their systems running its agent.
- A tool to enable the InfoSec Team in the Assurance Directorate to check cyber posture and local patching compliance and to provide assurance internally and externally.
- A tool to enable InfoSec to provide more targeted and timely vulnerability warnings to local IT Teams based on network asset data from around the collegiate University.
It is a cloud-hosted solution with client agents installed on participating devices.
